Contemplative in the Kootenays

June 22, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Contemplative in the Kootenays will meet on Saturday, June 22nd. The day begins at 10 am and ends at 3 pm, at the home of Leah Seaman, just south of Kaslo. Directions are below.

We’ll begin with centering prayer (surrender meditation) and move into lectio divina, discussion, more meditation, and a short presentation.  We close with open communion.

Please bring your own lunch, a notebook and pen, and whatever you might need for “sitting gear” beyond a chair (we’ve got those!).

DIRECTIONS TO THE SEAMAN RESIDENCE:

Address: 5050 Highway 31

Where:  North of Ainsworth Hotsprings and South of Kaslo

Coming from Nelson/The South:  Take the highway up the Lake toward Kaslo, passing the ferry terminal at Balfour and continuing North on Highway 31.  We are approximately 13.4 km north of Ainsworth and just past Fletcher Falls.  If you begin to see the one and only farm in the area on your left, you have gone too far, so turn around and watch for the “5050” sign and the driveway leading up on the east, or Lake side of the highway.  There is lots of parking space and room to turn by our cabin and the house.  Drive or walk past our old log cabin to the new red-roofed house overlooking the Lake.

Coming from New Denver and Kaslo/The East and North: Come to Kaslo and then turn south at the 4-way light by Mohawk Gas.  We are 8 km south, past Mirror Lake and the long hill going up and through the rock cut.  When you see the farm on your right, slow down and begin to look for our “5050” sign on the left (east) side of the highway.  Come on up.  There is lots of parking space and room to turn by our cabin and the house.  Drive or walk past our old log cabin to the new red-roofed house overlooking the Lake.
