Wide Spot in the Road Dinner: NEW VENUE
March 5, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
DUE TO THE FIRE AT THE VILLAGE HEARTH, WE’LL BE MOVING TO THE APPLE TREE RESTAURANT FOR OUR NEXT WIDE SPOT.
Our March 5th topic is: What do you learn from the other-than-human world?
THIS WIDE SPOT, following on the heels of the North Valley Mountain Film Festival, explores our relationship with the world in which we live and move and have our being. What do we learn from the world around us? How do we relate to the animals, plants, water and mountains that form the other parts of the web in which we live? How important is it to learn from this world?
Childcare is free of charge, and takes place at the Youth Centre.
WideSpot in the Road is the name for our occasional community dinner and discussion group. Held sporadically during the fall, winter and spring, it’s intended to provide our community with a chance to converse civilly about the issues in our lives and in our larger world. We call them wide spots because there’s room here for everyone. Our goal is not to find the answers but to experience explore the questions together.
DOORS OPEN AT 3:45; DISCUSSION AT 4 P.M.; DINNER AT 5 P.M.
This event is sponsored by the Turner-Zion United Church of Canada in collaboration with Hearts Rest, and is underwritten in part by the Pro-Vision Fund of the United Church of Canada, BC Conference.
