Wide Spot Dinner
January 15, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
No ChargeOur January 15th topic is: What’s worth changing–and why? We’ll consider the difference between intentions and resolutions, what we consider important to change, and what we’re willing to do–both in terms of our individual lives and in terms of the larger world.
This no-cost event is held during the fall, winter and spring at the Village Hearth Restaurant in New Denver. From 4 to 6 pm on designated Sunday afternoons, we share focused, facilitated discussion on a topic. Introduced by music by the incomparable Freya (Martine DenBok and Noel Fudge), we’ll investigate the week’s question as a group. After 5 pm, the conversation continues casually over the Village Hearth’s great Farm-to-Table food.
Childcare is free of charge, and takes place across the street at the Youth Centre. Childcare is provided from 3:45 until the adult discussion is over, when the kids are invited to join us for dinner.
WideSpot in the Road is the name for our occasional community dinner and discussion group. We call them wide spots because there’s room here for everyone. Our goal is not to find the answers but to experience the joy of exploring the questions together.
This event is sponsored by the Turner-Zion United Church of Canada in collaboration with Hearts Rest, and is underwritten in part by the Pro-Vision Fund of the United Church of Canada, BC Conference.
