Contemplative in the Kootenays

The next gathering of Contemplative in the Kootenays is scheduled for Saturday, February 24, in Nelson, at the home of Jill Cowan. See below for directions. Our day starts at 10 am and ends at 3 pm.  We'll be doing Centering Prayer (Surrender Meditation); lectio divina; walking meditation; and celebrating open communion at the end. Conversations with the Dying

"Conversations with the Dying" is a series of short talks followed by discussion.  Participants will consider the range of beliefs that people hold about dying and what happens afterward; look at how a hospice volunteer, family member or friend might assist someone to say what they long to say--or need to say--before they die; and explore the pitfalls inherent in family communication during the death process.
