Conversations with the Dying

April 25 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

"Conversations with the Dying" is a series of short talks followed by discussion.  Participants will consider the range of beliefs that people hold about dying and what happens afterward; look at how a hospice volunteer, family member or friend might assist someone to say what they long to say--or need to say--before they die; and explore the pitfalls inherent in family communication during the death process. Finally, we'll examine our own fear of heart-to-heart speech with someone who is dying.…

Contemplative in the Kootenays

June 23

Our June 23rd gathering for Contemplative in the Kootenays will be peripatetic! We'll start off at the Anglican church in Balfour, and hop the afternoon ferry over to Yasodhara Ashram to join in the celebration there.  As many of you know, we've been holding retreats at the Ashram for four years, and often participate in the Sunday satsang after retreats. Beyond our group relationship, many of us have personal connections to the Ashram and its members. This year, we've been…
